Job Stories From Lancaster County, PA
CleanSpace and ThermalDry Wall Encapsulate Elizabethtown Crawlspace
Dan and Sunny G. of Elizabethtown purchased their home about five years ago. They knew they wanted to get the crawlspace encapsulated but also kept pushing it off. After looking for different and cheaper solutions, Dan decided to call I’m The Guy to assess his crawlspace.
Jason Dye was scheduled for the inspection. He inspected the crawlspace and formulated a plan to fix the problems with the crawlspace. He suggested the best to solution was to install CleanSpace System along with ThermalDry Wall System to encapsulate the crawlspace. After Jason presented both products to Dan and Sunny, they decided that this was the most efficient way to fix the crawlspace.
The ThermalDry System works by creating a waterproof radiant heat barrier on your walls. Its reflective surface is designed to keep heat inside the crawlspace, where it belongs--up to 97% of the heat that reaches it will be reflected back into the area. The CleanSpace System holds back water vapor passing through the foundation walls, directing it to your sump pump. With these two products installed together, Dan and Sunny can rest assure that their crawlspace encapsulation will last a very long time!
A failing foundation in York, PA
Arlene E. from Dallastown, PA had found herself with a serious foundation problem. The foundation of a garage addition was giving way to soil pressures from directly below the garage floor. The pressure caused a split at the corner of the foundation wall. Arlene contacted certified inspector Steve Reher with I'm The Guy Basement Systems to come out and assess the damaged areas. Scott found that Carbon Armor strips would be a great repair to help bond the cement blocks together and keep them from separating further.
Crew Foreman Rockey Felmey surfaced prepped the areas where the new Carbon Armor straps were to be applied with a concrete grinder. Once prepped, the Carbon Armor was applied to the foundation wall with a special two-part epoxy resin to bind the foundation to the Carbon Armor. The walls are now safely secured and warranted for the lifetime of the structure to Arlene.

Recently purchased this house. Basement was damp and musty before latest rain but did flood during the recent rains. Neighbors all flooded too. Interested in hearing what you would suggest. We just installed a radon system and don't know how that works with your systems. Have no idea if we can afford to fix this water problem now or not. Have already spent a fortune on this old (1950-ish) house.

My basement has been dry for four years, but in the past month, I have leaking from the top and bottom of the basement. I have silt on the floor. My basement is unfinished with a stone wall. The house was built in 1906/ In the past month, I have had water in the basement three times. Just yesterday when it was raining, I went down and saw where water was coming in/seaping. The entire wall that runs along the basement is damp.
