ITG installed WaterGuard, a below floor drain, to effectively capture wall and floor water seepage.  We incorporated this into their existing sump pump system. The new drainage system will transport all ground water to the sump pump and out of their home.

Job Stories From Adams County, PA
Bowing Walls in New Oxford, PA

Clarence and Heidi A. were concerned about a large horizontal crack that developed in their basement wall.  The crack spread from one corner of the room to the other and it seemed as if the wall was bellying in at the middle.  Clarence and Heidi decided to call in some foundation professionals to look at the wall.  I'm The Guy Basement Systems representative Ethan Hummel answered the call.

Ethan found their wall to be failing due to outside soil pressures created from moisture in the ground.  The crack was observed to be in the beginning stages of separation which allowed Ethan to propose a very sleek and cost-effective way of permanently bracing the wall.  Ethan presented Carbon Armor, a full wall bracing product that structurally bonds concrete walls together, resisting the forces that were causing the bow.

The production crew led by Denny Wertz were able to apply the Carbon Armor strips in just a couple of hours versus rebuilding the entire wall which would have taken days to complete and cost thousands of dollars more in comparison.

Clarence and Heidi are enjoying their basement again without any concern of a failing foundation.

A Leaky Egress Window in East Berlin PA

Lisa and Reed P. of East Berlin found themselves in trouble when their finished basement sprang a leak.  They found a window used as an egress escape was part of the problem and didn't know how to keep the water out from such a deep window well.  Lisa and Reed chose to contact I'm The Guy Basement Systems for an inspection of the basement and certified inspector Shawn Hendricks was assigned for the visit.  Shawn found water coming in the basement in multiple areas, with one specifically being the area directly below the egress window.

Shawn's solution included a Waterguard system with a Super Sump Pump for the majority of the basement.  Additionally, he prescribed a window well tap, well duct, and well strainer to collect the water outside in the window well before it could pass through the window.

Following the installation, the window well has remained dry, allowing Lisa and Reed to refinish their basement and reclaim their much appreciated space.
